Gold prices have been raised again in the country, with the price of the highest-quality 22-carat gold now nearing Tk 2.5 lakh per bhori.
The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has increased the price of 22-carat gold by Tk 1,633 per bhori (11.664 grams). Including VAT, the price has been set at Tk 247,743 per bhori.
The new rate came into effect at 10AM on Tuesday (August 25), according to a BAJUS notice.
The association said the latest increase was prompted by a rise in the price of locally sourced Tejabi gold.
