Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 491 people in their regular drives across the capital in the last 24 hours. A total of 39 cases were filed.
DMP Additional Deputy Commissioner (Media and Public relations Division) Niaz Mehedi confirmed the information in a press release on Friday.
According to the DMP release, 20 people were arrested in Ramna Division while 41 in Lalbagh, 48 in Wari, 48 in Motijheel, 59 in Tejgaon, 156 in Mirpur, 59 in Gulshan, and 56 in Uttara Division.
During the drives, police recovered 1 foreign-made revolver, 1 round of ammo, 4 spent cartridges, 10,071 yaba pills, 120 grams of cannabis, 44 grams of heroin, one Chinese axe, 1 hansua (sickle), one GI pipe, 1 monitor, 1 CPU, 6 phones and one victim.
