Low pressure forms over Bay; ports asked to hoist signal 3

A low-pressure system has formed over the northwest Bay of Bengal and adjoining coastal areas of West Bengal and north Odisha.

Follwoing that, the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD) has issues siganl 3 for four seaports.

It issued the maritime warning on Saturday, forecasting the possibility of squally winds in the affected areas.

According to the warning, the low-pressure system may move further west-northwestward. Under its influence, squally weather may develop over the seaports, the North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of Bangladesh.

The Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra seaports have therefore been asked to keep hoisting the no: 3 local warning signal.

Fishing boats and trawlers operating in the North Bay have also been advised to remain close to the coast and navigate with caution until further notice.
