NSC keeps close watch on Para athletes' training

With the Aichi-Nagoya Asian Para Games on the horizon, the National Sports Council (NSC) has stepped up its focus on Bangladesh's Para athletes' training, as two senior officials made a surprise visit to the ongoing camp at Dhaka National Stadium on Monday.

NSC Director (Sports) Mohammad Zahed Parvez Chowdhury and Director (Administration) Titon Khisa visited the training session to assess the athletes' preparation, progress and training environment. They spoke to the athletes and coaches, taking stock of the facilities and the overall arrangements at the camp.

The unannounced visit underlined the NSC's emphasis on maintaining an effective training programme ahead of the Asian Para Games. The officials also sought to understand whether the athletes were receiving the necessary support and facilities to sharpen their preparation.

Zahed Parvez Chowdhury praised the athletes for their hard work, discipline, dedication and commitment to training. He stressed that consistent practice, coupled with confidence, discipline and strong mental resolve, would be vital for success at international level.

"Regular training, confidence, discipline and strong determination are extremely important for achieving success at the international level," he said, urging the athletes to overcome adversity and give their very best in Japan.

Titon Khisa also inspected the camp's overall management and training facilities and assured the athletes of necessary support to make their preparation more effective.

NPC vice-president Md Sanowar Hossain, secretary general Dr Maruf Ahmed Mridul, deputy secretary general Md Hedayatul Aziz and executive member Md Anwar Kabir Chowdhury, among others, were present during the visit.

For Bangladesh's Para athletes, the message from the NSC was clear: the road to Asian glory will be paved with hard yards on the training ground. With the Games approaching, every session now counts.
