BGB member's hanging body recovered in Sylhet

Body of a Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) officer identified as Jamil Ahmed was discovered hanging on the tower of Minatila Border Outpost (BOP), Jaintapur, Sylhet, in the early hours of Tuesday (September 1).

Jamil was posted at the Minatila BOP of 48 Sylhet BGB Battalion. Jaintapur Police Station OC Mahbubur Rahman Molla stated the information to the press.

According to police sources, Jamil was found hanging from the tower by his fellow BGB officers early Tuesday and reported to the police.

The police sources suspect the death of Jamil is due to suicide and the exact reason behind the incident was not yet known.

The OC stated that the cause of death would be known after the autopsy and further investigation.
