Bangladesh national football team captain Jamal Bhuyan has officially joined Nagad, one of the country's leading mobile financial service providers, as its brand ambassador.
A formal agreement signing ceremony was held at Hotel Sheraton in Dhaka on Tuesday to mark the occasion. Footballer Jamal Bhuyan signed the agreement in the presence of Nagad Administrator Md Motasim Billah. The agreement is expected to place greater emphasis on financial inclusion among young people and sports enthusiasts across the country.
Under the six-month agreement, Jamal Bhuyan will take part in Nagad's various promotional activities and initiatives aimed at increasing engagement with customers, which are expected to encourage greater participation in financial inclusion among sports enthusiasts.
Expressing his excitement after becoming Nagad's ambassador, Jamal said, “I have worked with Nagad before and liked it. Today, I feel happy and honoured to sign as a brand ambassador. Nagad's most recent campaign was centred on the World Cup, which was a very good campaign. Overall, Nagad is doing good things for the country, and that is something I feel very good about.”
He said Nagad had brought about a revolution in digital transactions in Bangladesh through continuous innovation and customer-friendly services. He added that the various campaigns and reward programmes organised by Nagad for its customers from time to time had helped bring the organisation closer to more customers.
Welcoming the national team captain, Nagad Administrator Md Motasim Billah said, “A very warm welcome to Jamal Bhuyan to the Nagad family. We have been trying to build a relationship with Bangladeshi footballers. It will not be limited to Jamal Bhuyan; in the future, more star players will become associated with the Nagad family. Nagad will stand beside sports and athletes at all levels in Bangladesh.”
Senior Associate Administrator Syed Himayianuddin Ahmed, Associate Administrator Anwar Ullah, Chief Commercial Officer Shaheen Sarwar Bhuiyan, Chief Financial Officer Afzal Ahmed, Head of Marketing H U M Mehdi Sazzad and other senior officials of the organisation were present at the event.
