'SEYLON Amar Shohor’ celebrates the story of Ctg

The mega event of the ‘SEYLON Amar Shohor Chittagong’ campaign was held by celebrating the history, heritage, culture, food, lifestyle and the emotions and memories of the people surrounding the city of Chittagong.
Various known and unknown stories and memories of the city were highlighted through a grand event at the Navy Convention Center in Chittagong on Thursday night.
Every city in Bangladesh has its own identity, its own history, language, culture, food and a unique emotional relationship between the city and its people. Seylon Tea started the ‘SEYLON Amar Shohor’ campaign with the idea of rediscovering these unique stories of different cities in the country and presenting them to the people of the country.
Chittagong was chosen as the first destination for this campaign. As part of the initiative, specially designed SEYLON Tea packaging was launched in the market and the ‘Amar Shohor’ digital contest was organized on the digital platform. Special prizes were awarded to the final winners of this competition at the mega event.
The event featured an exhibition of paintings, historical artifacts, architecture, stories of the port and railways of old Chittagong, and local food culture (Mejban, Bela Biscuits). A delightful cultural program was also presented.
One of the highlights of the program was the presentation of the ‘SEYLON Amar Shohor Special Personality Award’. This award was given to five distinguished personalities in recognition of their special contributions to enriching the culture and society of Chittagong through their respective fields.
The honorees were Ekushey Padak-winning journalist and Dainik Azadi editor M. A. Malek, Ekushey Padak-winning journalist Abul Momen, architect and urban planner Zerina Hossain, urban planner Engineer Delwar Hossain Majumder, and writer and researcher Harun Rashid.
Executive Director of Abul Khair Group, distinguished freedom fighter Brigadier General (Retd.) Shahidullah Chowdhury presented the awards to the honored personalities.
Among others, businessmen, cultural personalities, and journalists were present at the program.
