Gold jewellery prices increased in the domestic market following three consecutive reductions.

The Bangladesh Jewellers' Association (BAJUS) raised the price of high-quality 22-karat gold jewellery by Tk 5,482 per bhori (11.664 grams). Including value-added tax (VAT), the price of one bhori of 22-karat gold jewellery now stands at Tk 2,37,362.

The price adjustment follows a surge in pure gold prices in the local bullion market. BAJUS confirmed that the new rates came into effect at 10:00 AM on Thursday (September 3).

The decision was finalized during a meeting of the BAJUS Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring on Thursday. The decision was formally announced in a press notice signed by Committee Chairman Dr Dewan Aminul Islam Shaheen.
