20 injured as passenger bus falls into ditch in Jhenaidah

At least 20 people were injured when a passenger bus lost control and fell into a roadside ditch in Kaliganj upazila of Jhenaidah on Friday morning.

The accident occurred at Keyabagan on the Jhenaidah-Jashore highway when the axle of a front wheel of the bus broke, causing the driver to lose control. The bus overturned and fell into the ditch.

Locals and Fire Service personnel rescued the injured and took them to Kaliganj Upazila Health Complex and other hospitals for treatment.

Barobazar Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Mrityunjoy Biswas said the accident occurred due to a mechanical fault in the bus.

A passenger, Sohag Hossain, said around 20 to 25 passengers were injured in the accident.
