A 45-years-old farmer, who sustained injuries after being alleged shooting by India’s Border Security Forces (BSF) near the Chhagalnaiya border in Feni, has been admitted at the Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH). A bullet hit him in the left back part of his body.

The injured farmer, Mosharraf, said the shooting incident took place at about 4 PM on Friday (September 5), when he was busy in farming in his field located at the Purba Joynagar border area of Chhagalnaiya upazila.

Mosharraf, who belongs to Pocha Mia’s house in Joynagar area, is the son of late Md Mostafa.

He said a bullet fired by BSF personnel hit him in the left back side while he was farming in his land. Then he was rescued and brought to the CMCH hospital.

After bringing him to the emergency section of the hospital, he was admitted to the casualty section of Ward No. 2. Some parts of the bullet were successfully removed by doctors from his body, though there were still some pieces remaining in his body.

SI Nurul Alam Ashek, in-charge of the CMCH police outpost, said, quoting Mosharraf, that he was injured while working in the border area and was admitted to the hospital on Friday night.
