Eastern University has formally submitted intent letters to the Bangladesh Accreditation Council (BAC) seeking accreditation for seven of its academic programmes.
A delegation from Eastern University recently met BAC Chairman Professor Dr Md Akhtar Hossain Khan at his office and handed over the intent letters for the accreditation process. The programmes seeking accreditation are Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA), BSc in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE), BSc in Civil Engineering (CE), BSc in Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Bachelor of Arts in English, LLB and Bachelor of Pharmacy.
The university delegation comprised Registrar Dr Abul Bashar Khan, Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) Director Professor Dr S M Siraji and IQAC Additional Director Associate Professor Md Maidul Islam.
BAC full-time members Professor Dr Md Shah Amran and Professor Dr Wakilur Rahman, along with Accreditation Director Professor Nasir Uddin Ahmed, were also present at the meeting. The BAC chairman assured the university delegation of necessary guidance and cooperation throughout the accreditation process.
Eastern University authorities said the initiative would play an important role in improving the quality of its academic programmes and ensuring alignment with national and international standards.
