4,000 Tech Solutions, 27 Nations: Dhaka Set for FoodPro Investment Blitz

Dhaka is set to become a global showcase for the future of food processing as the 11th BAPA FoodPro International Expo 2026 opens on Thursday, bringing together more than 200 brands from 27 countries and a major contingent of foreign investors seeking opportunities in Bangladesh’s rapidly evolving agro-processing industry.

The three-day international exhibition, focused on food processing and packaging technologies, will run until 12 September at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB).

More than 150 foreign investors are expected to attend the expo, where companies will showcase thousands of technologies covering food processing, filling, packaging, coding and marking, labelling, quality inspection, warehousing, cold-chain management and logistics.

The organisers unveiled the programme at a press conference at the Bangladesh Agro-Processors’ Association (BAPA) office in Sobhanbagh on Tuesday.

This year’s expo will put the spotlight on AI-powered automation, machine vision, robotics, smart factories and industrial Internet of Things (IoT), alongside advanced processing machinery and sustainable packaging solutions.

More than 4,000 technology and machinery-based solutions will be displayed, giving local manufacturers an opportunity to assess technologies that could transform production efficiency, product quality and export capacity.

The organisers expect more than 24,000 visitors during the three-day event.

BAPA President Mahbub Anam said modern technology was essential for taking Bangladesh’s agro-processing and food-processing industries to the next level.

He said the expo would enable entrepreneurs to identify advanced technologies, attract investment and strengthen production and export capabilities.

Expo Organising Committee Chairman and PRAN-RFL Group Chairman and CEO Ahsan Khan Chowdhury said 156 foreign investors were expected to participate, underscoring the growing international interest in Bangladesh’s food-processing market.

Alongside FoodPro, the Food Ingredients Bangladesh Expo 2026 will also be held at the same venue, bringing together suppliers of functional foods and beverages, nutraceuticals, alternative proteins, plant-based formulations and sustainable food ingredients.

FoodPro will remain open from 10am to 7pm on 10 and 11 September, and from 10am to 6:30pm on 12 September.
