New administrator of Panchagarh Zilla Parishad

PANCHAGARH, Sept 9: District BNP Joint Convener MA Majid has taken charge as the new administrator of Panchagarh Zilla Parishad. 

He was given this appointment in a notification signed by Tahmina Akhtar, Senior Assistant Secretary of Zilla Parishad branch of the Local Government Department (LGD) of the Ministry of Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives on Monday.

The following Tuesday morning, he officially took charge from the LGD secretary at the Secretariat and started his administrative activities in full swing from Wednesday. 

In politics, he is regarded as a ‘cold-headed politician’. His political career began with the mass movements of the 1990s. He was the convenor of MR Govt College Branch Chatra Dal. Later he served as the General Secretary (GS) of the District Chatra Dal and after that as the Acting GS of the District BNP. Currently, he is the District BNP joint convener. Apart from this, he also served as APS and PS of former speaker late Barrister Jamir Uddin Sircar.

It should be noted that the position of Panchagarh Zilla Parishad Administrator became vacant after the death of Md Tauhidul Islam. MA Majid was appointed there.
