Niyamat takes charge as BMU VC

Rear Admiral M Niyamat Elahee has assumed charge as the 6th vice-chancellor of Bangladesh Maritime University.

Joined the Bangladesh Navy in 1989, Rear Admiral Elahee was commissioned into the Weapon Electrical Engineering Branch in 1992, according to a press release recently.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronic engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology.

Prior to this appointment, he served as assistant chief of Naval Staff, material, at the Bangladesh Navy headquarters since May 6, 2025.
