NRBC Bank PLC has launched a 40-day foundation training programme for 40 management trainee officers (MTOs) to develop the next generation of banking professionals.
The training programme was inaugurated on Sunday at the bank’s Human Resources Training and Development Centre (HRTDC).
NRBC Bank Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Dr Md Touhidul Alam Khan, FCMA, attended the inaugural ceremony as chief guest. HRTDC Head Fahmida Chowdhury presided over the programme.
Deputy Managing Director and Chief Business Officer Md Shaheen Howlader and Chief Human Resources Officer Faisal Ahmed were also present.
In his speech, Dr Touhidul Alam Khan said professionalism, integrity and adaptability were essential for bankers in a changing financial environment.
He advised the trainees to prioritise customers’ needs, continuously develop their knowledge and apply their training in their daily work.
He also said that knowing banking rules and regulations alone was not enough for new banking professionals. Effective communication with customers, responsible conduct and sound decision-making in changing circumstances were equally important.
