
Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) Chairman (Additional Secretary) Dr Md Mahmudur Rahman inaugurated the BCIC buffer warehouse in Barishal as the chief guest on Saturday, with the aim of ensuring timely and proper supply of fertilisers to farmers.
Additional District Administrator (Revenue) of Barisal Md. Obaidullah, BCIC Director and Joint Secretary Md. Moniruzzaman, BCIC Director (Planning and Implementation) Md. Khairuzzaman, Managing Director and Divisional Head (Marketing) Md. Manzur Reza, fertiliser dealers, and other related officials were present at the event.
The chief guest said that ensuring the timely and proper delivery of fertilisers to farmers is one of the important responsibilities of the government. He added that there is an adequate stock of fertiliser in the country and urged people not to pay heed to misleading information and rumors about fertiliser, but to verify the correct information instead.
With the commissioning of this new warehouse, which has a storage capacity of 10,000 metric tons, fertiliser storage and management in the Barisal region will become more dynamic.
