Stocks extended recovery for the second consecutive session on Thursday as bargain hunters returned to the market, attracted by relatively lower prices of beaten-down stocks.
The DSEX, the benchmark index of the DSE, gained 11.7 points to settle at 5,476 points, compared with 5,464 points in the previous trading session.
The market remained volatile throughout the session, with see-saw trading reflecting active participation from both buyers and sellers. Stronger buying pressure, particularly in selected stocks, helped the market close higher.
The port-city bourse, Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE), also ended the session in positive territory.
