At least 100 Palestinians, including roughly 50 children, remain trapped under rubble following a residential building collapse in Gaza City on Wednesday (September 16).
According to a report by Aljazeera, rescue workers have so far recovered 11 bodies and pulled 12 survivors alive from the debris. Local civil defense teams reported that the structure collapsed around 1:00 AM while residents were asleep. The building had previously sustained partial damage from earlier Israeli airstrikes, but displaced Palestinians were forced to take shelter there due to a lack of alternative accommodations.
First responders and local residents are currently using available equipment to clear the debris and rescue those trapped beneath the wreckage.
