Medical and dental college admission tests for the 2026-27 academic session are tentatively scheduled for Dec 4, subject to the publication of HSC exam results.

Directorate General of Health Education (DGME) Director General Prof Dr Md Nazmul Hossain confirmed the initial decision on Wednesday (September 16). He noted that the Dec 4 date depends entirely on the HSC results, which are expected in mid-to-late October.

Admission notices cannot be issued before the results are out, and additional time will be needed for re-scrutiny processes, applications, and logistical preparations. If HSC results are delayed, the medical entry test will also be pushed back, which could clash with admission schedules for BUET and other public universities.

The DGME chief added that MBBS and BDS admission tests will be held on the same day this year as well. Discussions regarding question paper design and mark distribution are ongoing and will be finalized within two weeks. For the 2025-26 academic session, the joint admission test took place on Dec 12, 2025, with results published two days later.
