Father, son held with narcotics in Meherpur

MEHERPUR, Sept 16: The district administration, Department of Narcotics Control and police, in a joint raid, arrested a father and son along with narcotics, cash, ammunition, mobile phones and locally made weapons from their home in Tatipara area of the district town on Tuesday morning, said Executive Magistrate of the district administration Sirajul Islam.

Acting on information about alleged drug sales at Firoz Hossain’s residence near the town’s Jogar Mill, authorities searched his bedroom and recovered 373 yaba tablets, about 2 kilograms of hemp, 23 grams of hemp seeds, 5 rounds of ammunition, one bottle of Phensedyl mixed with alcohol, 64 grams of cannabis, 2 mobile phones and Tk 9 lakh in cash.

Firoz Hossain, 56, and his son, Amanullah Aman, 27, were taken to the police station. Authorities are preparing to file a case under the Narcotics Control Act.
