Dear Sir,

Tourism is one of the most promising sectors for economic development, and many countries are paying increasing attention to its growth. Bangladesh, however, still lags behind despite having abundant natural attractions. Properly showcasing these resources could help the country’s tourism sector progress significantly.

Chandranath Hill in Sitakunda, Chattogram, has considerable tourism potential. Standing 310 metres or 1,020 feet above sea level, the hill has around 1,200 stairs. Visitors can travel there almost year-round, with crowds peaking during the monsoon and winter seasons. Unfortunately, the stairs are now in a severely dilapidated condition. Their poor state causes visitors additional difficulty while ascending and descending, while minor accidents frequently occur. Without prompt repairs, a major accident could occur at any time.

Therefore, the concerned authorities should urgently repair the stairs to ensure visitors’ safety and develop Chandranath Hill into a more attractive, tourist-friendly destination.
