Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) arrested 564 people in a 24-hour operation across the capital and filed 58 cases.
DMP Deputy Commissioner for Media and Public Relations Md Akter Hossain shared the information on Friday (September 18).
Mirpur recorded the highest number of arrests, with 153 people detained. The numbers were 114 in Tejgaon, 79 in Wari, 77 in Motijheel, 40 in Lalbagh, 36 in Gulshan, 35 in Uttara, 26 in Ramna and four by the Detective Branch.
During the drive, police recovered 2,194 yaba tablets, 3.715kg of cannabis, 62g of heroin, six mobile phones, seven pairs of stolen shoes, 200.15g of gold ornaments and 1,000 pieces of coloured paper.
DMP said the arrests and recoveries were made during operations in different areas of the capital.
Legal action against the arrested people is underway.
