Mirzapur The Movie has crossed the Rs 200-crore mark in India, extending its strong theatrical run into its third week.
The Pankaj Tripathi, Ali Fazal and Divyenndu-starrer collected around Rs 3.75 crore net in India on its 14th day, taking its domestic net total to about Rs 203.20 crore, according to trade figures reported by Indian media.
The film has also been performing strongly overseas. Its worldwide gross stood at around Rs 291.89 crore after two weeks, leaving it close to the Rs 300-crore milestone.
Directed by Gurmmeet Singh and written by Puneet Krishna, the film brings the popular Mirzapur franchise to the big screen. Pankaj Tripathi reprises his role as Kaleen Bhaiya, while Ali Fazal plays Guddu Pandit and Divyenndu returns as Munna Tripathi.
Released on September 4, the film opened strongly and continued to attract audiences despite a reduction in the number of shows during its second week.
With the film now in its third week, attention is turning to whether it can push its worldwide earnings beyond the Rs 300-crore mark.
