Motorcycle crash on Hanif flyover kills one

A security guard was killed and another person injured after a motorcycle lost control and crashed into an island on the Hanif Flyover in Dhaka’s Jatrabari, police said.

The accident occurred around 12:10am on Thursday. The deceased was identified as Kabir Hossain, 32. He worked as a security guard at Sonali Bank. He lived in the Gopibagh area of Motijheel. 

The injured man was identified as Sumon Mia, 24, son of Hamidul Islam of Madhyapara village under Saghatta Police Station in Gaibandha. 

Kabir’s roommate Paban Chandra Das said that the motorcycle, carrying two riders, lost control on the flyover and crashed into the island at around 12:10am.
