Cox’s Bazar Express derails in Patiya, rail link suspended

A coach of the Dhaka-bound Cox’s Bazar Express derailed in Patiya of Chattogram on Monday, disrupting rail communication between Cox’s Bazar and Dhaka and Chattogram.

The train left Cox’s Bazar for Dhaka and derailed near Patiya station after reaching the area on Monday.

Train services on the route were suspended following the incident.

Railway officials said efforts were underway to recover the derailed coach. No casualties have been reported so far.

Train services will resume after the coach is recovered and the railway line is restored, officials said.
