Typhoon Dujuan kills 2, leaves 4 missing in Japan

At least two people were killed and four others remained missing after Typhoon Dujuan brought record rainfall, flooding and landslides to parts of Japan, state media reported Tuesday.

The typhoon caused record rainfall in the Kanto region and Tokyo’s outlying islands, triggering floods and landslides, according to public broadcaster NHK.

The Japan Meteorological Agency issued its highest-level landslide warning and urged residents in affected areas to remain alert.

Although the typhoon was moving away from Japan, flooding continued in parts of Chiba prefecture near Tokyo. Landslides were also reported in Yokosuka in neighboring Kanagawa prefecture.
