17 more die of measles, dengue

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has reported that 17 more people died of measles-related symptoms and dengue across the country in the 24 hours from 8am Tuesday to 8am Wednesday.

During the same period, 1,270 people were newly diagnosed with suspected or confirmed measles. In addition, 1,868 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals across the country.

According to the DGHS measles-related release on Wednesday, 11 people died with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours. From March 15 to September 23, a total of 975 people have died with measles symptoms.

No one died from confirmed measles in the past 24 hours. However, 101 people have died from confirmed measles between March 15 and the morning of September 23.

A total of 1,157 people were identified with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, taking the total number of people identified with measles symptoms between March 15 and the morning of September 23 to 183,449.

The number of confirmed measles cases in the past 24 hours was 113, while the total number of confirmed cases during the period stood at 20,851.
