India seeks ‘positive, constructive’ ties with Bangladesh

Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal made the remarks during a regular media briefing in New Delhi on Tuesday (September 22).

Asked about the trajectory of India-Bangladesh relations, Jaiswal said India’s position had already been made clear.

“India wants a positive, constructive and forward-looking relationship with Bangladesh.''

He added that India was prepared to engage in discussions on all bilateral issues within the existing institutional framework.

The remarks come amid ongoing discussions over the future direction of ties between the two neighbouring countries.
