New bus fares for Dhaka, Ctg metropolitans

Bus fares have been increased by 17 paisa per kilometre following a Tk20-per-litre hike in fuel prices, with the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) publishing a revised fare chart for different routes.

The fare for buses and minibuses in Dhaka and Chattogram metropolitan areas has been raised from Tk2.53 to Tk2.70 per kilometre. For long-distance routes, the fare has increased from Tk2.23 to Tk2.40 per kilometre.

Within the areas covered by the Dhaka Transport Coordination Authority (DTCA), the fare has been revised from Tk2.43 to Tk2.60 per kilometre. Under the revised rate, the fare for a 52-seat bus will increase by Tk17 for every 100 kilometres.
