July fighters demand faster verification, gazette publication

The 'Tarunyer July Foundation' has demanded that the government expedite the inclusion, verification and gazette publication of participants of the July 2024 mass uprising.


As a result, the applicants concerned are being deprived of government recognition and associated benefits, the organisation said.

The foundation called for the immediate completion of MIS enrolment for applicants whose cases have remained unresolved for nearly two years.

It also demanded that the names of those whose MIS enrolment and verification have been completed be published in the official gazette without delay.

The organisation further called for identifying and promptly resolving applications and files pending at different ministries and government offices. If an application is incomplete, applicants should be informed in writing about the missing documents and the steps required to complete the process, it said.

The foundation also urged the authorities to ensure transparency, impartiality and accountability in the verification process while ensuring recognition for genuine participants of the July uprising.

The memorandum, signed by Tarunner July Foundation Chairman Md Sagar Uddin, urged the authorities to coordinate with relevant agencies and take effective measures to clear long-pending applications and files.

July uprising fighters Abdul Halim, Advocate Russell Mia, Salman, Hafiz, Abdul Gaffar and journalist Mir Dulal were present during the sit-in and submission of the memorandum.
