Mohammedan's new coach Varela begins a new chapter

Mohammedan Sporting Club is gearing up for the new season under Argentine coach Fernando Santiago Varela, who arrived in Dhaka early on Sunday.

Varela reached Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at around 3:00 am, where he was welcomed by Mohammedan director (Administration) Lokman Hossain Bhuiyan. The club officials greeted the new coach with flowers.

The Argentine is now set to begin work with the squad as Mohammedan look to build their campaign around a new coaching set-up.
Varela's arrival has generated considerable interest among Mohammedan supporters, who are eager to see how he shapes the team and blends local and foreign players ahead of the new season.

Mohammedan have arranged a press conference on Sunday afternoon to formally introduce Varela. Club officials are expected to outline the duration of his contract, the team's targets, player recruitment plans and their broader strategy for the upcoming season.

One of Bangladesh's most popular and historic clubs, Mohammedan have remained in the title race in recent seasons. With Varela now at the helm, the black-and-white outfit will look to strengthen their challenge for silverware in the new campaign.
