Observer signs healthcare agreement with Insaf Barakah Kidney Hospital

The Daily Observer has signed a corporate healthcare agreement with Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital to ensure healthcare services for its director, journalists, officials, employees and their family members.

Under the agreement, they will be able to receive medical treatment and undergo various health tests at reduced costs at Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital.

The agreement was signed at a programme held at The Daily Observer office on Monday. Managing Editor of The Daily Observer Mahataf Uddin Khan signed the agreement on behalf of the newspaper, while Additional Managing Director of Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital Md Altaf Hossain signed on behalf of the hospital.

Alongside the signing of the agreement, a day-long free medical camp was organised with the cooperation of Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital and under the management of The Daily Observer.

The camp was held from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM, where around 120 directors, journalists, officials, employees and their family members of The Daily Observer received free kidney tests, blood pressure checks and other health examinations. A physician also provided free health consultations.

Participants at the camp received free medical consultations, along with blood pressure and serum creatinine (kidney) tests. They were also offered the opportunity to obtain a corporate discount card for only Tk 50.

Earlier, the free medical camp was inaugurated by The Daily Observer Editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury and Assistant General Manager of Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital Muha. Hafizur Rahman.

Reports of the tests conducted at the medical camp will be available for collection from the HR Department of The Daily Observer office from 12:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Within the following three days after the reports are provided, participants will be able to receive free medical consultations at the emergency department of Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital between 4:00 PM and 5:00 PM.

The Daily Observer Editor Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury said, “This agreement between The Daily Observer and Insaf Barakah Hospital has created an opportunity for us to work together in the healthcare sector. We hope to receive the hospital’s cooperation in various healthcare-related initiatives organised by The Daily Observer in the future.”

Assistant General Manager of Insaf Barakah Hospital Muha. Hafizur Rahman said, “We are delighted to enter into a corporate agreement with The Daily Observer. We have a special commitment to journalists. Under an initiative of the Barakah Foundation, accommodation facilities are available in Dhaka for patients and their attendants at rates ranging from Tk 400 to Tk 800. In addition, free dialysis facilities are available for underprivileged and distressed patients.”

Hospital authorities said Insaf Barakah Kidney and General Hospital’s corporate healthcare and public awareness programmes will continue in the future to ensure quality and accessible healthcare for all.

The programme was attended by The Daily Observer’s Head of Accounts Farhana Akter, Head of HR Subrata Sarkar and other officials.

Representing Insaf Barakah Hospital were Assistant General Manager Muha. Hafizur Rahman, Dr Naim Bin Alomgir Kazi, Assistant Manager (Marketing and Media In-charge) H M Dulal, Senior Executive (Corporate) Md Hiro Mia, Md Milon, Senior Staff Nurse Rukaiya, Pathological Technologist Mukta Akter, Executive Barsha Adhikari, Rubina Yasmin and other officials and employees of the hospital.
