World Pharmacists Day observed at GSTU, NSTU

World Pharmacists Day was observed at Gopalganj Science and Technology University (GSTU) and Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) on Tuesday in a befitting manner and under the theme “Empowering Pharmacists for Healthier Futures”.

GOPALGANJ: On the occasion, a rally, seminar and award ceremony organised by the students of the GSTU’s Department of Pharmacy of GSTU was held.

The programme began with a rally on the university campus at 11 am, followed by a cake-cutting ceremony and a seminar on pharmacists’ role in healthcare and the profession’s importance to future health systems.

GSTU Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Md Sohel Hasan attended as chief guest, while Pro-Vice-Chancellor Dr Md Ataur Rahman, Gopalganj Medical College Principal Prof Dr Golam Morshed Molla and Treasurer Prof Dr Md Khosrul Alam were present as special guests.

The event was chaired by Dr Tarikul Islam and moderated by Pharmacy Association General Secretary Fazle Rabbi. Meritorious students were later presented with awards.

NOAKHALI: On the occasion, a rally, cake-cutting and discussion organised by the NSTU’s Department of Pharmacy was held.

NSTU Pro-Vice-Chancellor Prof Dr Muhammad Shafiqul Islam attended as chief guest, while Treasurer Prof Dr Md Hasan Uddin was present as special guest. The event was chaired by Pharmacy Department Chairman Prof Dr Jamiuddin Ahmed.

Addressing the gathering, Islam urged pharmacists to develop up-to-date knowledge, research skills, technological expertise and professional ethics to address rising lifestyle-related diseases and rapid advances in pharmaceutical science. He also called for research focused on Bangladesh’s healthcare needs, particularly the development of safe and affordable medicines.
Faculty members, students and staff of the Pharmacy Department attended the event.
