Moin Khan pledges accountable, responsible governance

Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Dr Abdul Moin Khan has pledged to ensure accountability and work responsibly as representatives of an elected government.

He made the remarks at a discussion on development activities of the Department of Public Health Engineering (DPHE) at its auditorium in Kakrail, Dhaka, on Friday.

Dr Moin said the government was ready to listen to constructive criticism and would take steps to correct mistakes if they were properly brought to its attention.

However, he urged all concerned not to criticise the government based on false or misleading information.

He also called on everyone to play a responsible role in maintaining a democratic environment and stability in the country.

The minister said government officials and employees at all levels were servants of the people and their primary responsibility was to work for public welfare and help establish Bangladesh as a developed and respected country.

Despite limited resources, he urged officials and employees to continue serving the people with sincerity and dedication.
