The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported five more deaths from measles, measles-like symptoms and dengue across the country in the 24 hours to 8am Friday.
During the period, 1,242 people were newly diagnosed with suspected or confirmed measles, while 1,163 dengue patients were admitted to hospitals.
According to the DGHS measles-related release, one person died with measles infection and three others died with measles symptoms. From March 15 to October 2, 1,114 people have died with measles and its symptoms.
A total of 1,221 people were identified with measles symptoms in the past 24 hours, taking the total to 194,084 since March 15. Another 21 confirmed cases were reported, bringing the total to 21,623.
The DGHS dengue release reported one death in Dhaka division, raising this year's dengue death toll to 250.
The latest 1,163 hospital admissions took the year's total dengue cases to 82,761. Chattogram division recorded the highest number of new cases at 333, followed by Dhaka division with 295.
So far this year, 76,862 dengue patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals.
