Police detained 363 people during an anti-teen gang crackdown conducted simultaneously across 18 police stations in Cumilla on Friday (October 2) night.
The operation was carried out from 7:00 PM until midnight by different units of the district police and the Detective Branch (DB), particularly in areas identified as hotspots for activities involving unruly teenagers.
The drive was led by Cumilla Police Superintendent Md Anisuzzaman, with senior district police officials taking part.
Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration and Finance) Lutfur Rahman said, "the detainees were being screened to determine whether they were involved in any criminal activities".
Legal action would be taken against those found involved in crimes, he added.
He said, police were conducting such drives regularly to prevent teenagers from becoming involved in criminal activities, while steps were also being taken to ensure that innocent people were not harassed during the operations.
