A Malaysian tourist who went missing for 37 days after devastating floods hit Nepal has been found alive and safely returned home, according to an organisation representing families of missing people.
The Chinese-Malaysian solo traveller was last seen at Nagthali Viewpoint on August 25, a day before the floods struck the region. The disaster damaged roads and bridges and disrupted electricity and water supplies, leaving many people stranded.
The survivor later contacted the Malaysian Embassy in Kathmandu after reaching safety. His return has brought relief amid continued efforts to locate people reported missing after the disaster.
