Saudi air defences intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by Yemen’s Houthi militia towards the Medina region on Thursday (November 5), the Saudi-led coalition said.
Coalition spokesman Maj Gen Turki al-Malki confirmed the interception in a post on X. The statement did not specify whether the missile was targeting Medina city itself.
Earlier, Saudi Civil Defense issued an early warning alert in the western province of Yanbu before declaring the threat over.
The interception comes amid renewed cross-border attacks and escalating tensions involving the Houthis and Yemen’s internationally recognised government forces.
