An unidentified-suspect case has been filed over an attack on journalists at Rajshahi University, triggering anger among campus journalists who have given a deadline for the arrest of those involved.

Monir Hossain, deputy registrar of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall, filed the case with Motihar Police Station on Monday.

Motihar Police Station OC Golam Kabir confirmed the matter, saying police have started investigating the case and will take action based on their findings.

Campus journalists expressed frustration over the case being filed against unidentified suspects. They demanded that those involved be identified and arrested by 4 PM and that the university administration take visible and effective action against them.

The journalists said video footage of the attack is available and the identities of several alleged attackers have already been reported by different media outlets.

On Sunday night, several journalists were attacked while performing their professional duties in front of Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Hall. Four journalists sustained serious injuries, while several others were also injured.
