Leaders and activists of Jatiya Jubo Shakti, the youth wing of the National Citizen Party (NCP), besieged the Department of Youth Development in Motijheel's Dilkusha area on Sunday, demanding the resignation of State Minister for Youth and Sports Aminul Haque over allegations of a question paper leak.

The protesters gathered in front of the department around noon and placed five demands, including an independent investigation into the alleged leak and punishment for those responsible.
Their demands include the resignation of Aminul Haque; formation of an independent and impartial inquiry committee into the question paper leak; arrest and punishment of those involved; and an end to alleged politicisation, nepotism and irregularities in recruitment, with appointments based on merit.

They also demanded an end to harassment in the name of verification and alleged manipulation of viva voce marks, alongside a clear government action plan to create jobs for unemployed young people and promote youth development.

During the demonstration, activists chanted slogans such as 'Stop question paper leaks, ensure the right to merit', calling for transparency in recruitment and effective measures to address youth unemployment.

The protesters concluded their siege around 12:45PM after presenting their five-point demands.

Advocate Md Tarikul Islam, convener of Jatiya Jubo Shakti, told Samakal that the alleged question paper leak on Saturday showed, in his view, that the government and the Ministry of Youth and Sports were not giving adequate attention to young people and that recruitment-related irregularities were taking place.

He questioned the state minister’s silence following the incident and called for Aminul Haque’s resignation over what he described as a failure to discharge his ministerial responsibilities, alongside an impartial investigation into the allegations.
