New Delhi, Oct 11: India’s Gen Z-led Cockroach Janta Party that has been spearheading the agitation demanding resignation of the Chief Election Commissioner and roll back of the controversial Special Intensive Revision, today announced loud and clear that JantarMantar 2.0 is on and there is stepping back till their demands are met.
“We are not stepping back till the Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar resigns. Holding peaceful protest is our Constitutional right. The end of this government is very near. We appeal to all citizens to hold peaceful protests in the interest of democracy. If the government has any respect for democracy, it should let us protest.’’ asserted AshutoshRanka, CJP leader while addressing an over- crowded Press conference at the Press Club of India, hours after being released from preventive custody following signing of a peace bond.
CJP leaders AbhijeetDipke, Ashutosh Rana and Saurav Das were released by a Special Executive Magistrate Court. Their release came amid continued protests and heightened security in the national Capital after around 7,000 persons were detained from multiple locations while trying to reach the protest spot-JantarMantar.
Flagging violation of democratic rights of the citizens by the government, Ashutosh said that the government is at war with journalists and even sent police to Gurdwara Bangla Sahib. “They have created emergency like situation for journalists who are doing their work. The police cannot enter a place of worship. The government is creating an atmosphere of fear all over the country. It does not like being asked questions. They even detained four former Chief Minsters yesterday. They seized our phones.
