Four more people have died of dengue across the country in the past 24 hours, taking the death toll from the mosquito-borne disease to 303 this year. During the same period, 2,193 patients were admitted to hospitals with dengue, according to the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).
The figures were released in the DGHS’s regular dengue report on Sunday, October 11.
According to the report, two people died in Khulna Division outside city corporation areas. One death each was reported in Chattogram and Rajshahi divisions, also outside city corporation areas.
Dhaka Division outside city corporation areas recorded the highest number of new hospital admissions, with 530 patients in the past 24 hours.
During the same period, 304 patients were admitted in Khulna Division, 293 in Chattogram Division, 250 each in Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation, 236 in Barishal Division, 160 in Rajshahi Division, 84 in Rangpur Division, 70 in Mymensingh Division and 16 in Sylhet Division.
