Six people, including a child, were killed when a small plane crashed in Wisconsin, the United States, local authorities said.
The crash occurred around 9:31pm local time on Tuesday in the town of Delona, about 40 miles (64.4 kilometres) northwest of Madison, the state capital, according to Anadolu Agency.
In a statement, the Sauk County Sheriff’s Office said five adults and one child died in the crash. The victims’ identities were not immediately released.
Police said the fixed-wing Piper PA-46 aircraft had communicated with a nearby air traffic control tower before the crash.
Investigators are examining the communications and whether weather conditions played any role in the incident, according to the sheriff’s office and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
No damage to structures on the ground or injuries to other people were reported.
The FAA and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will assist local authorities in investigating the crash.
