Stolen police pistol recovered in Ctg

Police have recovered a pistol, two additional empty magazines and eight rounds of ammunition allegedly looted from a police station armoury from an abandoned educational building near a government commerce college in Chattogram.

The weapons and ammunition were found inside a black shopping bag on the building’s second floor on Sunday (October 18), police said.

Acting on a tip-off, police conducted a search at the abandoned building and recovered a Taurus pistol with a magazine, two additional empty magazines and eight live rounds of ammunition.

Double Mooring Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge Arif Faisal said the pistol had been looted from the station’s armoury on August 5, 2024.

However, police have yet to determine how the weapon ended up in the abandoned building, who left it there or who was involved in the incident.
