Retail chain Unimart has launched a customer-focused initiative to offer competitive prices on more than 3,500 everyday essential products by improving operational efficiency, strengthening direct sourcing and reducing profit margins on selected items.
The initiative, titled ‘Your comfort, our joy’, aims to make daily shopping more affordable without compromising product quality or service standards.
Unimart Chief Executive Officer Gazi Mahfuzur Rahman said the rising cost of everyday essentials had become a major concern for households.
“Standing by our customers means more than ensuring quality products and services. It also means making a genuine effort to ease the cost of their daily shopping,” he said, adding that the initiative seeks to deliver meaningful value to customers.
As part of the initiative, Unimart is improving resource utilisation across its operations and adopting energy-saving measures, including greater use of natural daylight at outlets and more efficient air-conditioning management to reduce electricity consumption.
The retailer is also expanding direct sourcing to reduce reliance on intermediaries and procurement costs. The approach is expected to help maintain oversight of product quality and authenticity through checks at different stages of sourcing, storage and handling.
In addition to operational savings, Unimart is accepting lower profit margins on selected essential products to offer more competitive prices across the range of more than 3,500 items.
The company said its employees, partner brands and suppliers were working together to support the initiative while maintaining product and service standards.
Through the programme, Unimart aims to make everyday shopping more affordable and translate operational efficiencies into savings for customers.
