Water Resources Minister and BNP Joint Secretary General Shahid Uddin Chowdhury Anee has warned that attempts to create social unrest by misinterpreting Islam and spreading confusion will not be tolerated.

He made the remarks on Thursday afternoon while addressing an introductory meeting of the Mahila Dal at Titarkandi under Charshahi Union in Chandraganj Police Station, Lakshmipur.

The Minister stated that the government has been actively carrying out development works since assuming office. Under these circumstances, attempts to create instability through road marches or long marches, instead of supporting the government, are unacceptable.

He further emphasized that everyone must work together to prevent drug abuse and social misdeeds. Party leaders and activists must maintain unity and play a responsible role in safeguarding the country’s democracy and normal public life, he added.

The meeting was also addressed by BNP leader and BFF Vice-President Wahid Uddin Chowdhury Happy, Upazila BNP President Belal Hossain, District Mahila Dal President Sabera Anwar, and General Secretary Fatema Akter Sumi, among other local leaders.
