Marvel drops Avengers: Doomsday preview during World Series

Marvel has released a special preview of Avengers: Doomsday during Game 1 of the Major League Baseball (MLB) World Series, offering a new look at the upcoming superhero film.

The promotional footage, released on Friday, featured Marvel characters taking to the baseball field, with Robert Downey Jr's Doctor Doom showcasing his powers. The film is scheduled to hit theatres on December 18.

Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, the film will bring together heroes from the Avengers, Fantastic Four and X-Men universes as they face the threat posed by Doctor Doom.

The story centres on Victor von Doom, whose past and personal losses are expected to play a significant role in the unfolding multiversal conflict.

The film will feature Downey Jr alongside Chris Hemsworth, Chris Evans, Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and several other Marvel stars.

The cast also includes Tom Hiddleston, Paul Rudd, Anthony Mackie, Florence Pugh and Letitia Wright, bringing together characters from several Marvel franchises.

Avengers: Doomsday is scheduled for a theatrical release on December 18, 2026.
