Aamir Khan says '3 Idiots' sequel script nearing final version

Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has revealed that filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani is working on the script for a sequel to '3 Idiots' and may narrate its latest version to him in the coming weeks.

Speaking at the Singapore International Film Festival, Aamir said he was hopeful of hearing the script soon, raising expectations among fans of the 2009 hit film.

“Well, I'm not allowed to say a lot. I think I can say this much, and yes, Raju is working on the script. In fact, hopefully once I'm back in the next couple of weeks, he's going to narrate the final version to me. So, fingers crossed,” Aamir said.

Hirani previously told 'The Hollywood Reporter India' that the story would explore what happens to the film's characters 15 to 20 years later. The characters would be married with children and facing a midlife crisis, rather than returning to their college days.

Aamir also shared an update on another much-loved Bollywood film, 'Andaz Apna Apna'. He said filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi was working on something related to the film but did not confirm whether it would be a sequel.

The remarks came as fans at the Singapore International Film Festival expressed their affection for the 1994 comedy, according to 'Variety'.
