Official activities at the Secretariat were disrupted on Tuesday after electricity supply to all ministries was cut off for around an hour and 20 minutes, leaving officials and employees struggling to carry out routine work.
The power outage began at 12:40PM, affecting offices across the government complex and interrupting regular administrative activities.
As of 2:10pm, electricity had yet to be restored to the ministries, according to information available at the time of reporting.
The sudden interruption created a standstill in day-to-day operations, with officials facing difficulties performing their regular duties in the absence of power.
A Ministry of Religious Affairs official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the outage had made it difficult to carry out office work.
“Many tasks cannot be completed as usual because there is no electricity. We have little to do but sit and wait,” the official said.
The cause of the power outage was not immediately known.
