The three-day ‘BARVIDA Car Expo 2026’ will begin on November 5 at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in the capital, marking 50 years of Japanese automobiles in Bangladesh and aiming to revitalise the reconditioned car market.

Organised by the Bangladesh Reconditioned Vehicles Importers and Dealers Association (BARVIDA), the exhibition will continue until November 7.

The announcement was made at a press conference organised by BARVIDA on Saturday (October 31). BARVIDA Secretary General Riaz Rahman briefed the media on the expo's arrangements and objectives. Acting President Saiful Islam and other executive committee members were also present.

The expo will showcase a wide range of reconditioned vehicles from popular Japanese brands, allowing visitors to compare models, features, technologies and prices under one roof.

Popular models, including the Toyota Prius, Corolla Cross, Harrier, Noah, Voxy and Alphard, will be displayed at the exhibition, Riaz Rahman said.

He said the expo would help prospective buyers choose vehicles according to their budgets and preferences while comparing prices offered by different companies.

A special attraction will be a historical exhibition highlighting the 50-year journey of Japanese automobiles in Bangladesh. It will showcase popular models from different generations, the evolution of automotive technology and the contribution of Japanese vehicles to the country's transport sector, from vintage cars to modern hybrid models.

Riaz Rahman said the reconditioned car sector contributed to the economy through employment generation, entrepreneurship, investment, trade activities and government revenue.

He added that the expo aimed to promote the Japanese reconditioned car market, strengthen direct communication between buyers and businesses, and raise awareness of vehicle quality, reliability and modern automotive technologies.

The exhibition will remain open daily from 11:00am to 8:00pm, with free admission for all visitors. BARVIDA has invited automobile enthusiasts, prospective buyers, businesspeople, professionals and families to attend.
